Self-balancing Two Wheeled Robot

The basic purpose of our project was to demonstrate the techniques involved in balancing an unstable robotic platform on two wheels and to design a complete discrete digital control system that would provide the needed stability. Basically, our bot prevented itself from falling by giving acceleration to the wheels according to its inclination from the vertical. If the bot gets tilts by an angle, than in the frame of the wheels, the center of mass of the bot will experience a pseudo force which will apply a torque opposite to the direction of tilt.

In this particular Project we are interested to show a particular application of Digital Logic Design in Battery Detection and Auto charging. Although the project can be elaborated to any types of batteries. However, in this particular project we are interested in two famous and most used types of battery, namely Lithium Ion (Li-ion) and Lithium Nickel. (NimH). These two types of batteries are used extensively in Mobile phones.
